Strain-ger Things

We’ve been impatiently waiting for the last couple episodes of this season to come out, and we needed a way to kill time at the shop while keeping the excitement alive. So, here’s a Stranger Things newsletter.

We’ll keep this short and breezy because it’s hard to come up with content without littering this newsletter with spoilers. The last episode of the season left everyone hanging with questions, but there was one in particular that got us all scratching our heads at the pot shop.

WHAT WOULD ARGYLE SMOKE?

You already know we had to pause the show and look up this strain when Argyle dropped a name like that; Purple Palm Tree Delight. Unfortunately, while the strain him and Jonathan are smoking is loosely based off of Purple Haze, it’s not real (yet). But it got us thinking - if Argyle was here, what would he be smoking?

We took to the streets (aka the IG polls) to see what you thought he’d be rolling up amidst an inter-dimensional crisis.

MOST VOTES: BLUE DREAM

HONORABLE MENTION: ACAPULCO GOLD

STAFF PICK: PINEAPPLE EXPRESS

In terms of how much he would buy, we think he’s a “cheapest-ounce” kind of guy, and Jonathan is definitely just smoking whatever Argyle is bringing to the table.

STRANGER STRAINS

Here’s what you should smoke for the big finale:

PINEAPPLE UPSIDEDOWN CAKE (Pineapple Trainwreck x Cookie Monster)

This one is for Vecna’s squad. The perfect way to decompress after a trip to the Upside Down, Pineapple Upsidedown Cake is an indica-dominant hybrid combining Pineapple Trainwreck with Cookie Monster. While we’ve had the 14g bags of this Pineapple Buds strain in before, we brought in the 3.5g flower this week just for the special occasion.

Next up, we got:

MAC-1 (Alien Cookies F2 x Miracle 15)

We’re putting this strain on the list because a) it’s lineage features Alien Cookies and b) it’s the perfect high to get you couch-locked for almost 4 hours of television. Find your origin story with this treat available in 3.5g, 28g, and convenient pre-rolls.

The most relevant to the show’s backstory & a team favourite:

MK ULTRA (OG Kush x G13)

This is probably the best strain for this newsletter because it ties into the storyline quite wonderfully. Under the watchful eye of Dr. Brenner, Eleven’s birthmom, Terry, took part in the (very real) CIA project, MK Ultra. However, Terry became pregnant during her time at the facility; due to the effects of the MK Ultra project, little Jane is born with extraordinary powers. This strain is named after the real MKUltra project that ran from 1953-1973.

And last but definitely not least:

WAFFLE BITES (Cake x Sour OG)

Waffle Bites is a hydroponically-grown strain from just outside Chase, BC. Grown by Cake & Caviar, this premium Sour Diesel-descendant carries a unique aroma of buttery waffles, so we guessed this would be what Eleven rolls up to binge-watch Netflix.

We also brought in a whack of alien-themed strains, like the Alien OG 510 Vape Cartridge and some island-grown Alien Jelly 3.5g flower. Take a peek at the full menu below…

We were going to give you a list of munchie recommendations, but we figured that there was really only one acceptable snack for the occasion.

We hope you enjoy getting high and watching some of the best television this dimension has ever seen. We’ll catch you on the flip-side!
